A Davie man is facing a murder charge after authorities say he ran over a worker with his car as the two argued over payment for grounds-keeping work.

Issa Asad, 41, was charged with premeditated murder in the death of 50-year-old Michael Kramer, the Broward Sheriff's Office said. Asad was being held without bond Tuesday and it was unknown whether he has an attorney.

According to the BSO, Kramer had been working on Asad's property at 499 Sheridan Street in Dania Beach on July 5 when the two argued over payment. Kramer believed Asad owed him $65 more than Asad wanted to pay, the BSO said.

As the two argued, Kramer stood in front of Asad's four-door Mercedes S550, and Asad began to inch the car forward. "Are you going to run me over?" Kramer asked. "If you don't move, I'm going to run you over," Asad replied, according to the BSO.

Witnesses told the BSO Asad then hit the gas, running over Kramer with the front and back wheels.

Kramer was taken to Hollywood Memorial Hospital and was later transferred to hospice care in Aventura, but he never regained consciousness and died of his injuries July 15.
