Davie Police Sergeant Rushed to Hospital After Being Hit By Car Along I-75 Late Wednesday Night

A Davie Police sergeant was hospitalized after being struck by a car while helping a motorist involved in a crash along I-75 late Wednesday night.

According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Sgt. Patricia Ravine was stopped in the southbound lanes just south of Royal Palm Boulevard helping out in a rollover accident that had occurred moments before.

FHP troopers say that when Ravine exited her patrol car on the shoulder, she was hit by a Kia that had swerved to avoid hitting her patrol car and went onto the shoulder.

Ravine was airlifted to Broward Health Medical Center and is listed in stable condition inside the ICU.

The FHP is investigating the crash.
