Dead Dog Found in Cage Off Florida Keys
The dog had not been in the water long, authorities said

The dog was found dead in the cage.

A dog was found dead inside a cage in waters off Big Coppitt Key, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.
The dog had not been dead very long before it was found by a man who had been jogging along Boca Chica Road around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.
Authorities and the Florida Keys SPCA officer responded and pulled the cage from the water. They found the dead 30-pound tan and white dog inside.
They believe the dog may have been a cocker spaniel.
The body was taken to animal control.
