Defying Police Boycott, Hospitality Workers' Union Welcomes Beyoncé to Miami

The Marlins Park workers, members of UNITE HERE Local 355, are standing in solidarity with Beyoncé, the Black Lives Matter movement, and the fight for racial justice, by welcoming the singer to Miami, where she is launching her world tour.

"We are excited and proud of Beyoncé’s Super Bowl performance and her choice to open her World Tour in Miami. It means so much to us that a strong, Black woman is raising the crisis happening in our communities," said Elie Phillipe, catering server at Marlins Stadium.

"Trayvon Martin grew up not far from this stadium. We want Beyoncé to know we have her back. We will be proud to serve her and all concert goers on April 27."

UNITE HERE Local 355 represents hundreds of food and beverage workers at Marlins Park and thousands of hospitality workers across the City of Miami.
