Deputies Search for Man Who Stomped on Woman's Head at Sunnyside Coin Laundry in Pompano Beach

The woman, 44-year-old Thanh Lam of Coral Springs, sustained severe injuries and was hospitalized at Broward Health North.

Authorities were searching for a suspect who stomped on a woman's head during a robbery at a Pompano Beach laundromat.

The woman, 44-year-old Thanh Lam of Coral Springs, sustained severe injuries and was hospitalized at Broward Health North.

Around 8:45 a.m., a customer found Lam on the flood at the Sunnyside Coin Laundry. He realized the suspect was still there in a small closet behind the woman. The suspect told the customer he had a gun and warned not to come hear. He jumped over Lam and ran out the back door.

It was not immediately clear if he stole anything.

Surveillance video showed someone matching the suspect's description at a Hess gas station nearby a few minutes after the crime. The man asked to use the bathroom, talked ona cellphone and then someone in a green SUV picked him up.
