Deputy-Involved Crash in Lauderhill as Suspect Flees: BSO

A suspect who fled deputies crashed into a trailer after running a stop sign and was captured while trying to flee on foot Friday in Lauderhill, authorities said.

The incident happened just before 3:15 p.m. in the area of Northwest 14th Street and Northwest 32nd Avenue when the suspect, who was in a suspicious car, fled deputies and hit the trailer that was being towed by an SUV, Broward Sheriff's Office officials said.

The suspect bailed out of the car, a black Cadillac SRX, and fled on foot but was caught a short time later.

During the incident, a BSO K-9 deputy lost control of his vehicle and collided with a tree. He wasn't injured.

Authorities didn't identify the suspect, who was taken into custody on existing felony warrants and will face additional charges, officials said.
