A man on a dirt bike opened fire at an officer during a brief chase in Miami-Dade County on Sunday, officials said.

The assailant shot at the officer pursuing him before he was caught and arrested just outside a gas station at Northwest 12th Avenue and Northwest 39th Street, police said. The shooting occurred sometime before 5 p.m.
