Talk about a lucky dog.
Firefighters rescued a poor pooch Monday afternoon after it got its head stuck inside a cooler in West Miami-Dade.
Firefighters were called to the area of Southwest 188th Ave. and 134th St. to free the female mixed-breed that had been stuck inside the cooler for about a week, officials said.
The rescue team sedated her then used a saw to cut away the cooler. She was then handed over to animal control.
The dog had just given birth to a litter of puppies and it's believed that the extra body fat is what kept her alive during the week.
