Dolphins Activate Jordan, Waive Williams

Dion Jordan will join the Dolphins for the first time this season on Sunday following a suspension

For this entire season, the Miami Dolphins have been without the services of Dion Jordan but that will change on Sunday.

Jordan was activated by the Dolphins on Saturday and will be available to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. In a corresponding move, the Dolphins waived wide receiver Damian Williams in order to meet the 53-man roster requirement.

Jordan has been suspended by the NFL since the start of the season for drug infractions. Initially Jordan was suspended for four games for violating the league's performance enhancing substance policy. That suspension was lifted after two games but a new four-game suspension took its place. That second suspension was in relation to the NFL's substance abuse policy.

It is likely that the Dolphins will ease Jordan back into games in the early going. It may take a couple of games before Jordan is back into the regular mix. The 24-year old has the ability to be a difference maker in the pass rush but it remains to be seen if can offer consistent production. Jordan also needs to show the Dolphins that he can move on from his off-field issues and be available to the team on a regular basis.

Williams only saw time in one game for Miami and he caught a single pass. The wide receiver ended up with 14 yards this year on one offensive snap. Williams was actually also cut before the season but then was re-signed earlier this month.

The Dolphins will look to improve to 4-3 on Sunday in a 1:00 p.m game in Jacksonville.
