Dolphins Announce Preseason Schedule

The Dolphins released their 2016 preseason schedule on Thursday which will begin with the Giants

The Miami Dolphins announced their 2016 preseason schedule on Thursday which will begin in mid-August against the New York Giants.

The exact days of each game remain unknown, but Miami now knows its opponents and which week it will face them. The four-game schedule will give the Dolphins a chance to make final roster decisions while getting its starters in-shape for the grueling season.

The aforementioned first game against New York will be played sometime between Aug. 11-15 and will be a road game. This will mark the first time that the Dolphins and Giants face one another in the preseason since 1994. Miami is 6-0 against New York historically in the exhibition season.

Moving on to the second week of the preseason, the Dolphins will travel to Dallas for a game with the Cowboys. In nine previous games against Dallas, Miami is 3-6 with the last game taking place in 2014. The Dolphins came away victorious in that one. This year's game will be played between Aug. 18-22.

The first game at Miami's newly renovated stadium will be played on Aug. 25 and will be nationally televised on NBC. The week three match-up will see the Atlanta Falcons visiting Miami, after the Dolphins paid a visit to Atlanta in 2015. The Dolphins hold a 6-8 record against the Falcons in their preseason history.

The fourth and final preseason game will be played on either Sept. 1 or 2 and will be in Miami as well. The opponent for that final tune-up game will be the Tennessee Titans. The last time the teams met in the preseason was 1989 when the Titans were still known as the Houston Oilers.

Miami's preseason will give fans a chance to see a revamped roster and coaching staff for the first time as the team looks to end a lengthy playoff drought.
