Dolphins Finish Season With Win Over Pats

The Dolphins completed a lackluster year in a positive way with a win over New England

The Miami Dolphins wrapped up their season on a high note with a 20-10 win over the New England Patriots on Sunday.

With the victory, Miami finished the season 6-10 and snapped a three-game skid. The season was a disappointing one for the Dolphins and it featured changes at several coaching positions. The team also parted ways with its general manager Dennis Hickey on Saturday.

It was a game without much meaning for Miami but it meant a tremendous amount to New England. The Patriots could have clinched home-field advantage throughout the playoffs with a victory. This gave the Dolphins a chance to play the role of spoiler in what was otherwise a lost season.

Ryan Tannehill finished a down season with a successful game in the win. Miami's quarterback threw for 350 yards on 25-38 passing. Tannehill threw two touchdown passes and was not picked off once. Miami's offensive line did an admirable job of protecting Tannehill as the QB was only sacked one time.

The ground attack was also working for the Dolphins as Lamar Miller rushed for 60 yards on 19 carries. In all, Miami had 96 yards on 34 carries with Tannehill taking off on the ground three times himself.

Miami will now head into its off-season in search of a head coach and general manager. In addition, it is likely that there will be additional changes made to the coaching staff. The Dolphins are not expected to wait long before preparing the staff for next season.
