Dolphins Game Preview: Week Six vs. Falcons

The Dolphins will look for an upset victory over the Falcons in Atlanta on Sunday

The 2-2 Miami Dolphins will take on the 3-1 Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday.

The Falcons are coming off a bye week, while Miami is entering a fifth straight week of play. Besides being well-rested, Atlanta is capable of big offensive days. The Falcons have averaged 26 points a game thus far, while Miami has only put up 10.3 points per contest.

Miami won a game against the Tennessee Titans a week ago, but it was against a backup quarterback. The 16-10 victory was anything but pretty and Miami still has some glaring issues. Jay Cutler had a QB rating of 52.1 last week and the home fans showed their displeasure throughout. There were chants at Hard Rock Stadium asking for Matt Moore to take over, but Miami has not elected to make that change.

Cutler has three touchdowns to go along with three interceptions through four games. The veteran QB has a 74.8 rating overall and has struggled to get the ball down field. Miami's offensive line has also often not given Cutler much time to work with, as the QB has already been sacked ten times this season.

DeVante Parker is listed as doubtful for the game and his involvement could be a difference maker. Parker has been quiet through four games, but still has big play ability. If Parker is not able to shake off the ankle injury, Jarvis Landry stands to see more action.

With the passing taking a potential hit, Miami could try and lean on Jay Ajayi a little more as well. Ajayi has been slowed by a knee problem this season and has failed to match last year's production. The Falcons allow an average of 93 yards a game on the ground, while Ajayi has averaged 76 himself.

Miami's defense has been solid this year and has held opponents to less points per game than Atlanta's unit. Containing quarterback Matt Ryan and the rest of the defending NFC champions is a lot easier said than done however. The Falcons average 403 yards of offense a game and can beat teams in a multitude of ways.

Sunday's game will get underway at 1:00 p.m.
