Dolphins Game Preview: Week Two vs. Patriots

The Dolphins will face long odds in a home game against the Patriots on Sunday

The 0-1 Miami Dolphins will host the 1-0 New England Patriots on Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium.

Miami was manhandled last week and this game could offer more of the same. The Baltimore Ravens beat the Dolphins 59-10 in Miami and the score reflects the action on the field perfectly. Miami was outclassed in every facet of the game against Baltimore and the game was over quickly.

The Patriots are the defending Super Bowl champions and they appear ready to go on another title run. New England won their first game rather easily and it could have Antonio Brown on the field for this one. Brown is eligible to play in this game, but New England has not committed to using him on Sunday. Even without Brown, Miami's defense will have a tough day against Tom Brady and New England's offense.

Ryan Fitzpatrick went 14-29 for 185 yards in last week's loss and exited before the game was completed. Fitzpatrick threw one touchdown pass and was also intercepted one time, before Josh Rosen took over. With another lopsided score expected, Rosen may once again take the field in this game. Rosen ended up going 1-3 for five yards and he was picked off once. Fitzpatrick and Rosen were sacked a combined three times in the loss against Baltimore.

Besides a rough game in the air, Miami also struggled on the ground. The Dolphins attempted 12 runs and tallied only 21 yards total. That may not change much against New England in this game. The Patriots only allowed 32 yards on the ground in their season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Miami has won five of the last six home games it has played against New England, but this is the biggest mismatch on paper of them all. The Dolphins are rebuilding and are in contention for the top overall draft pick. The Patriots meanwhile could make a run at the best record in the league this year. The Dolphins will visit New England in the final week of the year to complete this year's season series.

Trent Harris, Charles Harris, Bobby McCain and Daniel Kilgore are all listed as questionable on Miami's injury report.

Sunday's kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
