Dolphins Lose Will Davis for Season

Dolphins CB Will Davis will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.

The Miami Dolphins received some bad news on Friday when they lost cornerback Will Davis for the remainder of the year.

The CB is being placed on injured reserve with a knee injury. While the team has not provided specifics on the injury as of yet, it was reported to be a torn ACL by ESPN.

This would mark the third time this year that the Dolphins lost a player to a torn ACL. First primary running back Knowshon Moreno suffered a season ending injury. Next, it was Branden Albert who went down with a torn ACL as well as an MCL in his right knee. All of these injuries have come as Miami attempts to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot.

Davis has 17 tackles this year and had one in Thursday's comeback win over the Buffalo Bills. The 24-year old is in his second year with Miami and had fallen back on the depth chart. Still, Davis' loss will be felt as the Dolphins will likely need to seek outside assistance to replace him on the roster.

In addition to the aforementioned players, the Dolphins have placed several others on injured reserve this season. Those names included defensive back Michael Thomas, as well as defensive tackles Kamal Johnson and A.J. Francis. Overall the Dolphins have placed ten players on injured reserve already this year with a few weeks left to go.

Miami is off until November 23rd when it heads to Denver for a game with the Peyton Manning and the Broncos.
