Doral's Pink Pony Club Shut Down, Father Who Brought Daughter to Club Arrested: Police

A Doral strip club has been shut down and a father is behind bars after an investigation into minors hanging out in the bar led to a raid Wednesday.

The doors to the Pink Pony Club on Northwest 33rd Street were locked up tight Wednesday, hours after the raid by Doral Police and Code Compliance ended in the arrest of 59-year-old Jose Manuel Arguelles.

"There's allegations of unlawful activity by minors or unlawful activity that endangers minors at the night club and that was the basis our code enforcement and police department acted on it," Doral Police Lt. Carlos Arango said.

Arguelles allegedly took his own 16-year-old daughter and another girl to the club, and provided drinks and cocaine to the minors, police said. He was charged with child neglect, promoting sexual performance by a child and delivering a controlled substance to a child.

"There were allegations of underage activities at the club, additional details other than that, I"m not at liberty to say," Arango said.

According to the arrest report, the girl's mother saw inappropriate cell phone photos and video of the daughter and her friend in the club "drinking alcohol and snorting cocaine."

The daughter told police her father often brought them there. The other victim, who is 17, told police she witnessed Arguelles give the daughter alcohol, cocaine and marijuana, the report said.

At his bond court appearance Wednesday, Arguelles' bond was reduced from $145,000 to $45,000. He was also ordered under house arrest and to have no contact with his daughter or her friend.

Meanwhile, the Pink Pony will remain closed until a hearing before a special magistrate, Doral officials said in a statement.

"The safety and welfare of our youth is paramount for the City of Doral," the statement read.
