Deputies said they were forced to break into a car early Monday after the driver blacked out at a traffic light with a burrito in hand.

A witness said he followed 36-year-old Daniel Hernandez after watching him hit a curb with his car and swerve in and out of his lane on the streets of Volusia County, according to NBC affiliate WESH.

The witness told deputies that Hernandez stopped about 50 feet from a traffic light and fell asleep while clutching a half-eaten Taco Bell burrito.

When deputies failed to wake him up by knocking on his car window, they broke the window while Hernandez remained blacked out through the incident, WESH reported.

The arrest report said paramedics tried for two to three minutes to wake Hernandez up. The report also said he had a blood alcohol level that was twice the legal limit, according to WESH.
