Early Lead Fades Away For Dolphins in Loss

The Dolphins had a 10-0 lead after the first quarter in Sunday's loss to Baltimore

Sunday's game was a big one for the Miami Dolphins but they fell to the Baltimore Ravens by a final score of 28-13.

Miami actually led 10-0 after one quarter of play but that lead began to vanish in the second quarter. Baltimore took the lead early in the second half and never surrendered it. This was a critical loss for Miami as it is now on the outside looking in for the playoffs. In addition, Baltimore now holds the tiebreaker and the Dolphins saw their conference record take a hit.

Ryan Tannehill was 23-33 for 227 yards in the loss while throwing one touchdown pass without any interceptions. What did Tannehill in on multiple drives were sacks. The QB was sacked five times for a total loss of 34 yards. One of those sacks came when Miami was in the red zone looking for a fourth quarter TD.

Lamar Miller carried the ball 12 times for 53 yards. The running back was held in check despite a depleted Baltimore defensive line.  In all, Miami only had 63 rushing yards.

Brian Hartline caught the line TD pass for Miami while Jarvis Landry led the wide receivers with 55 yards. Landry was shaken up on a play during the game but was able ti return. The WR showed no ill effects and caught a big pass that led to a field goal.

Safety Louis Delmas was carted off with an apparent knee injury without any contact. The injury looked serious and it is possible Delmas could miss the remainder of the season.

Miami won the turnover battle as R.J. Stanford picked off a pass from Joe Flacco. That was the only turnover of the game.

The Dolphins will head to New England next Sunday for a game with the Patriots.
