Early Morning Fire Damages Hialeah Restaurant

Investigators said the building was considered too dangerous to enter until the property can be inspected.

A Hialeah restaurant went up in flames early Sunday morning.

Firefighters responded to the Asian Hibachi Buffet at 1500 W 49th Street around 3:30 a.m. Police said the fire spread quickly and people had to be evacuated from the area.

Investigators said the building was considered too dangerous to enter until the property can be inspected.

"There's some cracking of the foundation walls and the roof is starting to sag as well," said Hialeah Fire Department Captain Caesar Espinosa. "So the state fire marshal is unable to start his investigation until the building engineers get out here and say it's safe to go in there."

Once cleared to enter, the state fire marshal can investigate the cause of the fire.
