A suspended South Florida politician is expected to plead guilty to a money laundering conspiracy.
Josephus Eggelletion is scheduled to change his plea Thursday in federal court in West Palm Beach.
The 60-year-old former Broward County Commissioner was charged in September with conspiring to help launder more than $900,000 through a Bahamas bank account from what undercover FBI agents told him was an investment fraud scheme.
Two other Broward elected officials were busted in the same FBI sting and have pleaded not guilty.
Eggelletion was suspended from office in October. In a statement released Monday, Eggelletion apologized to the community for his actions. He faces a maximum of five years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
