Elderly Woman Assaulted While Checking Cable Connection: Cops
The woman was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash during the home invasion robbery

The elderly woman was assaulted when she went to check on her cable connection, police say.
Authorities were searching for a suspect who attacked and robbed an 80-year-old woman who went to check on her cable connection.
The woman was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash during the Dec. 30 home invasion at the 1500 block of NE 6th Street, Fort Lauderdale Police said Friday.
Just before 8 p.m., the woman walked out the back door of her home to check on her cable connection and was assaulted and taken back into the home, where the suspect went through her house, police said.
The suspect fled and she ran to her neighbor's house. She was taken to Broward General Medical Center as a precaution as she had facial abrasions but has since been released.
Detectives said this was an isolated incident and the woman may been targeted because of her age.
