An elderly woman was conned out of $10,000 by a man and woman who told her they needed her help to claim lottery winnings, authorities said Tuesday.

Caridad Martinez, 81, from Miami, saw a woman crying on a bench, saying that she had won the lottery but couldn't claim the money because she wasn't a U.S. citizen, City of Miami Police said.

Then a man joined them and convinced Martinez to withdraw $10,000 to help them get the winnings. The two people then fled.

Security cameras got images of one of the suspects and authorities are asking anyone with information to please help identify them by calling 305-471-8477 or at 866-471-8477.
