An elementary school principal has been sent to the legal version of the Principal's office after she allegedly used her post to rob her school of a little comfort.
Priscilla Maloney, 49, has been arrested and charged with theft after the Palm Beach principal allegedly stole leather sofas, a computer and a saxophone from Plumosa School of the Arts in Delray Beach, the Sun-Sentinel reports.
According to the arrest report, Maloney had her own personal liquidation sale of some of Plumosa's furniture and appliances as the school was getting set to move to a bigger campus.
The principal gave away $14,420 in school furniture, including the comfy leather sofas and chairs, to a school district administrator without proper consent. The lucky recipient of the loot, Delorisa Brown, resigned earlier this week and was not charged with a crime, reports the Palm Beach Post.
Maloney claimed she thought Brown was taking the furniture to a different location, but instead it went to a family business. But that didn't explain what happened with the other items.
Maloney allegedly swiped a $900 laptop and an expensive LCD projector. Then she must have decided none of her students would miss the sounds of a new $800 saxophone because she took that, too, police said.
Prosecutors charged Maloney with grand theft, official misconduct and one count of an organized scheme to defraud.

Investigators were pointed in Maloney's direction by an anonymous complaint e-mail to her bosses.
If convicted, Maloney faces 26 years in prison.
