A jury found a 26-year-old woman guilty of lewd and lascivious molestation and conduct Tuesday, convicting her of having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old girl while working as a softball umpire.

The jury returned its verdict on Brigid Lesovsky Tuesday afternoon in a Fort Lauderdale courtroom.

She was working as an umpire with the Cooper City Optimist Club and met the victim at a softball game, and the two became friends, according to the BSO.

The relationship turned sexual when Lesovsky fondled the 14-year-old girl about a month before her May 2011 arrest, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Prosecutors said the lewd acts came to light after the victim got in trouble at school and opened up to her parents.
