FBI Investigating Bank Robberies in Weston, Plantation

The FBI is searching for two robbers who targeted banks in Weston and Plantation Saturday morning, in apparently unrelated incidents.

The first robbery took place at the TD Bank in Weston at 4475 Weston Road just before 9 a.m. The robber entered the bank and demanded money from an employee.

A second robber entered the Plantation TD Bank at 1800 North Pine Island Road around 10:15 a.m. That robber brandished a gun as he demanded cash from a teller. Investigators believe that same man also held up this branch in early January.

Both suspects fled with undisclosed amounts of money. Customers were in both banks at the times of the robberies, but no one was injured.

The FBI does not believe the two robberies are related. Anyone with information on either robbery is urged to contact the FBI at (754) 703-2000 or Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477).
