The family of a former FBI agent from South Florida who went missing from the Iranian resort of Kish Island is renewing its plea for his release on the seventh anniversary of his disappearance.

In a statement Friday, Robert Levinson's family requested mercy from "those who are holding Bob" and urged the U.S. government "to recognize its duty to bring home one of its own who was taken while serving his country."
