FIU Women's Basketball Player Destini Feagin Accuses Coach Marlin Chinn of Sexual Misconduct: Report

A Florida International University women's basketball team captain is accusing her coach of sexual misconduct, claiming he has pursued a sexual relationship with her all season.

Destini Feagin made the allegation against coach Marlin Chinn and reported him to FIU's athletics administration as well as filed an NCAA complaint, the Miami Herald reported Tuesday.

FIU released a statement Tuesday saying they're investigating the allegations.

"FIU is conducting an investigation into allegations made against Coach Marlin Chinn. Based on the allegations, the university has suspended Coach Chinn, pending the outcome of the investigation," the statement read. "Because this is an ongoing investigation, the university will not provide additional comments at this time."

Chinn refused to comment to the Herald regarding the allegations. He's in his first year at FIU after spending six years as an assistant coach at Maryland.

Feagin also claims she unknowingly participated in a possible NCAA violation when Chinn loaned her $600 in December. She said she filed the NCAA complaint and made the report to FIU on Thursday.

Feagin said she was suspended for four games as punishment for resisting Chinn's sexual advances. She claims he told her "I have sexual fantasies about you," the Herald report said.
