Teen Hospitalized from Viral “Fire Challenge”

Fifteen year old Robert Seals put his life at risk, all over an internet challenge.

On Monday night, Seals and two of his friends, aged 15 and 12, tried their luck with the social media stunt known as the "fire challenge."

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Seals drenched himself in rubbing alcohol and asked another boy to spark him with a lighter.

Orange County investigators are reportedly exploring culpable-negligence charges for the other two boys that were involved.

Lisa Oliphant, Seals' aunt, spotted the boy running to the house, engulfed in flames. Oliphant then called 911 and doused Sears with water.

Once emergency services arrived, Seals was rushed to a local hospital with second-degree burns. The next day he was flown to a burn unit in Cincinnati for further treatment.
