Dozens of candles lit the night Thursday in remembrance of those who died in the Las Vegas shooting.
Fred and Maria Wright were present at Thursday’s vigil and they know firsthand the pain the families in Las Vegas are feeling. Their son Jerry was killed inside Pulse Nightclub in June 2016.
“June 12, 2016 we said ‘This is the worst shooting in modern American history.’ And here we are again,” said Fred Wright, “when is it going to be enough?”
The Wright’s joined an organization called “Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America,” hoping to build safer communities.
The group held a candlelight vigil at Wynwood Yard to remember the Las Vegas shooting victims.
“Getting united as a community to say Miami cares about this and we are with our brothers and sisters in Las Vegas,” said Gabriela Lowenstein of Moms Demand Action.
Some in attendance participated in a guided meditation and also listened to poetry.

A singer also performed a musical tribute to honor those senselessly murdered.
Now, the Wright’s and many others at the event believe lawmakers need to step up and make a change.
“There are a lot of things we can do while respecting the second amendment that will make us safer,” said Maria Wright.
