On what would have been her 13th birthday, Sherdavia Jenkins, who was killed when she was caught in the crossfire, had a park dedicated to her.

The memorial will feature guest speakers, a moment of silence and the reading of the names of children killed in Miami-Dade.

The park is named for Jenkins, who was just 9 years old when she was shot and killed during a shootout in the Pork 'N Beans projects in July 2006. Damon Darling was later convicted and sentenced to 50 years in prison in the shooting.
