Family Pleads for Help in Finding Missing Fort Lauderdale Mother Trukita Scott

The family of a Fort Lauderdale woman who went missing more than two months ago made a public plea for information behind her disappearance.

The plea by the family of Trukita Scott was held at the Fort Lauderdale Police Department Wednesday.

“It’s going on 3 months since I’ve last saw my baby, we just need answers," mother Kengeral Scott said. "These kids need their mother. I miss her terribly.”

Scott, the 24-year-old mother of two, was last seen in Miami Gardens on June 25. She didn't pick up her kids from daycare and never showed up at home.

"My daughter's phone was pinging all over South Florida, someone was using it, turning it on and off," father Charles Scott said.

Scott’s family has always stated from the beginning of her disappearance they believed her longtime boyfriend, Carl Watts, was responsible.

Watts turned himself into the U.S. Marshals back in early July for outstanding federal arrest warrants. He hasn't been charged in the disappearance of Scott.

Scott had been working at a U-Haul Store in West Park. Her boss, Jeffrey Davis, said Watts would regularly show up there and cause trouble.

Davis said Scott would tell him she feared Watts might do something violent to her when they were together.

"She had the fear that she might not come back," Davis said.

Watts has three previous kidnapping charges on his record. Fort Lauderdale Police said he has been "extremely uncooperative" in their investigation.

Scott's car was found by police back in July in Liberty City but so far no other trace of her has been found.

Kengeral Scott had a message for anyone with information.

"I want to say you don’t have to be afraid, come forward," she said. "You have children, you have brothers and sisters. Trukita would help you if she knew anything about your disappearance."

Anyone with information that might help find Scott can call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
