Family, Police Seek Answers in 2005 Murder of Teen

Nearly 10 years after a teen was shot and killed during a robbery at a Miami-Dade restaurant's drive-thru, his family and police are still seeking answers and a suspect.

Evan Antwan Page, 17, and Joseph Guy were at the drive-thru of the Checkers at 2645 Northwest 183rd Street on Nov. 29, 2005 when they were robbed by an armed man.

During the robbery Page was shot and later died from his injuries. Guy survived.

Page was a promising student at Carol City High School where he was in the Police Explorers and JROTC programs and wanted to be a police officer.

"It's been going on a decade, you know, it's a ridiculous amount of time for, you know, this person not to have been caught," brother Ronald Page said Thursday.

Police say the person who killed Page was a black male in his late teens or early 20's. A reward of up to $15,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.

"We still don't know who took my grandson's life," grandmother Luella Page said. "Antwan was a lovable boy, he didn't deserve to be killed like he was."

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
