The father was pronounced dead after being airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center.

A man is dead after being shot outside his home in Northwest Miami-Dade.

Miami-Dade police said the man and his son were outside their home at 930 Northwest 147 Street when three men approached them and shot the father.

He was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

Police have not released the identity of the victim, but family friends identified the man as Edilbert Noel. They said he was a religious man who had just gotten home from services.

The man's assistant pastor spoke with one of the man's five children after the shooting and said she was inconsolable.

"She was screaming, you can imagine," said Paul Pierre, with the North Miami Church of the Nazarene. "I can only imagine how frightened she was."

Officials said the suspects are still at large and the motive for the shooting is still unknown.

"Bad things happen to good people but yet our faith is still strong. We have that resolve. We know that God is going to get us through no matter what," said Pierre.
