Father in Mourning After Son Shot, Killed Outside Miami Nightclub

A father is mourning the loss of his son 24-year-old who was killed Saturday morning in a shooting outside a Miami nightclub.

Michael Lorenzo was fatally shot just outside of the “El Romance Restaurant & Nightclub,” located at 3451 Northwest 36 Street, at around 6:15 a.m. Saturday.

"I just lost my wife recently; I never expected to lose my son so soon too," said Lazaro Lorenzo, father.

Miami Police responded to the shooting where they found four victims shot on northwest 35th avenue just feet from the club.

Lorenzo's father is now pleading for answers and needs help.

"Those people that did this need to get caught," he said.

Police say Lorenzo died on scene. Miami Fire and Rescue transported the three other victims to Jackson Memorial Ryder Trauma Center, where one is in critical condition and the other two are in stable condition.

"He was an awesome man," Lorenzo's girlfriend said.

Lorenzo's girlfriend says she's three weeks pregnant with his baby that now will be born without a father.

"All the tragedy, all the young kids girls that have been dying by stray bullets they don't need to die," Lorenzo's father said.

Police believe there was a fight with an exchange of gun fire, and more than one shooter was involved in this incident.

"Please, please if you know anything please advise police," said Lorenzo's father.

Family says they believe Lorenzo had gone outside of the club to use an ATM and his phone. They say that's when he was caught in the cross fire.

"At the end of the day it's not going to amount to the loss that we have, but to at least know that person isn't going to put another family through this," said a friend of Lorenzo.

A GoFundMe page has also been started in Lorenzo's honor by his father to help with the family's funeral costs.
