Felon Wanted for Shooting at Father Surrenders to Authorities

A wanted felon who was caught on camera shooting at his father and another woman outside of a Pompano Beach home has surrendered to authorities.

QuanTez Rodney Baker was arrested Monday afternoon in the Jan. 4 shooting near the 2500 block of NW 5th Street, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Surveillance cameras captured the moment Baker slowly drove by in a gray Mercedes and fired several gunshots at his father and his female friend, who were standing in the front yard.

The man and woman can be seen running away from the bullets. Neither were injured, authorities said.

Authorities believe the shooting escalated from an argument over money.

Baker is a convicted felon who is currently on probation for charges of grand theft of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon and resisting arrest, BSO said. He is facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, violation of probation and shooting a missile into a dwelling.
