A Pembroke Pines financial advisor is facing charges after authorities say he stole nearly $200,000 from two of his elderly clients.
Ariel Hernandez, 47, is facing two counts of grand theft of a victim 65 or older and two counts of criminal use of personal identification.
Hernandez was being held on $300,000 bond Thursday, jail records showed. It was unknown if he has an attorney.
According to Pembroke Pines Police, an investigation revealed that between September 2012 and November 2013, Hernandez, a licensed financial advisor, unlawfully used an 83-year-old woman's personal identification to steal $152,425.50 from her.
From April 2013 to October 2013, Hernandez is accused of doing the same thing to a 77-year-old man, taking $45,500, police said.
The total loss suffered by the two victims was $197,925.50, police said.
Police said there may be more victims out there and if you or someone you know was victimized, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
