Firefighters Suspect Arson in Grass Fire in Southwest Miami-Dade

Firefighters suspect arson is to blame for a grass fire that ignited in a southwest Miami-Dade park.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said eight of their units and four Florida Forest Service units from Broward were fighting the blaze at Larry and Penny Thompson Park, located at 12451 SW 184th Street.

Fire officials said the 100 to 150-acre fire was contained to the park, with firefighters working to prevent it from spreading to nearby ZooMiami.

No injuries have been reported, and officials said no homes or businesses were being threatened by the fire.
