Flight From Fort Lauderdale Makes Emergency Landing in Tampa

Authorities say an Allegiant Air flight made an emergency landing at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport after a flight attendant was injured during turbulence.

The flight was en route from Fort Lauderdale to Asheville, North Carolina, on Monday when a flight attendant suffered head injuries during the turbulence.

Airport Operations Manager Lloyd Tillmann told the Tampa Bay Times the 147 passengers on board were taken off the plane while arrangements were made for another flight to North Carolina.

He says the flight attendant was taken to a hospital for treatment. Her condition wasn't immediately available.

No further details were immediately available.
