Free Back-to-School Immunizations Offered in Broward County

With school just around the corner, the Florida Department of Health in Broward County will offer free immunizations for children ages 4 to 18 during the month of August inside Lauderhill Mall.

Florida requires documentation of age-appropriate vaccinations for all school age children, pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Children entering kindergarten and 7th grade are normally due for a vaccine and need to meet the requirements for school entry.

Each child must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Parents and guardians will need to bring the child's immunization records.

School physicals, religious exemptions and immunizations for daycare will not be provided at this location.

Immunizations will be offered Aug. 10-12, 14, 17-19, 21, 24-25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Aug. 13 and 20 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In addition, an Immunization and Resource Fair will be held on Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The fair will include: Free immunizations, free face painting, free bicycle helmets for children who are vaccinated, family entertainment and Lauderhill Mall shop discounts.

Enrollment will also be available for Florida KidCare (Health insurance for children), WIC (Women, Infants & Children nutrition program), and Free & Reduced School Lunch program.
