Florida Girl Escapes From Would-Be Abductor Outside Walmart

A Florida girl is safe after some quick thinking when she says a man tried to abduct her in the parking lot of a Walmart in Poinciana. Now, the girl's family and police want the man caught.

Surveillance video shows the 10-year-old outside the store on Sunday. A man tells her to get into his car. That’s when she runs back inside the store.

"I was very proud of her because her intuition came out right away oh I don't know you," said Noibis Jaquez. Jaquez said she taught her granddaughter to defend herself.

“She says ‘Nana, somebody tried to snatch me.’ I said ‘what do you mean they tried to snatch you?’ So, when she saw me I hugged her and I said ‘who?’ She said ‘this red car, he had a red shirt.’"

Authorities released a composite sketch of what the suspect looks like.

Osceola County deputies believe the man was driving a Red Pontiac, possibly a 2008 Grand Prix with a yellow or gold stripe.

Jaquez says she was shaking when her granddaughter told her what happened.

"She knows she supposed to don't go with anyone, don't talk to anyone and if you feel threatened yell scream and run," said the grandmother. Jaquez said the thought of the suspect going after children breaks her heart and she hopes he is caught soon.
