Authorities are searching for a 74-year-old Florida Keys man after his boat was found anchored with its engines idling.
John Gyurstak of Big Pine Key was last seen Monday afternoon leaving to fuel his boat, Monroe County Sheriff's Office officials said.
On Tuesday afternoon, the boat, a 30-foot center console with multiple outboards, was found Tuesday afternoon anchored just off Little Palm Island with the engines idling. There was no sign of Gyurstak, investigators said.
A personal flotation device was found on the boat and there were no signs of foul play, officials said. Divers were searching the area Tuesday, and the U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission were assisting in the search.
