A Florida man is behind bars after police say they found dozens of stolen pool floats inside a vacant home – something the man told officers he did to avoid raping woman.

Christopher Monnin was arrested last week in Palm Bay on several charges, including burglary as well as theft of property less than $300 and criminal mischief. The 35-year-old was booked into the Brevard County jail, where he is being held as he awaits a July 16th hearing.

According to NBC affiliate WBBH-TV, officers followed Monnin to the home after he allegedly broke into the deck of another house to steal the floats.

Monnin reportedly told investigators that he performs sex acts on the floats “instead of raping women.” He is being held on $80,500 bond.
