Florida Man Guilty in Bomb Threat, Bank Robbery

A Florida man has pleaded guilty to attempted bank robbery using a fake bomb and making bomb threats against the Publix supermarket chain in a $50 million extortion case.
 
After Brian Henderson pleaded guilty Thursday, a federal judge sentenced him to more than 15 years in prison. Court records show Henderson claimed in emails last year that he would detonate bombs at Publix locations unless his demands for money were met.
 
In the bank case, Henderson was shot and wounded by police after attempting to rob a Dania Beach Chase Bank branch with what he claimed was a bomb strapped to his body. Police later determined the bomb was fake.
 
Henderson also pleaded guilty to threatening to poison products made by a New Jersey business unless he was paid off.
