Police are offering $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of 24-year-old Florida suspect they say posed as a Brinks security guard at a Sunrise clothes store and made off with $162,000.

John Mortimer committed the deception at Aeropostle at 12801 W. Sunrise Blvd. on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 9:46 a.m., police said.

His last known address was in Lauderhill, but Mortimer “is known to frequent Montego Bay, Jamaica,” they said.

Police urge anyone with information on his location to call Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS, or visit www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
