Florida Man Threatened Couple With ‘ISIS-Style' Attack: Deputies

A central Florida man was arrested after authorities said he threatened to kill a couple "ISIS-style" then stabbed the woman in the arm.

Jayson Scott Kearney, 49, was arrested in The Villages Friday on charges of aggravated battery, assault and criminal mischief, according to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

A 70-year-old woman said she was watching television when Kearney approached her from behind and put his arm around her neck while holding a knife, according to an arrest report obtained by WESH.

Kearney moved his arm across her throat and said "This is how I'm going to kill you," and said he would kill her "ISIS-style" by slicing her throat from ear to ear giving her a "smiley face," the report said.

Kearney told the woman and a 75-year-old man living with her that it would be easy to kill them and steal their car, the report said.

At one point, Kearney stabbed the woman in the arm three times with a pocket knife, the report said. "This is what will happen if you call the police," Kearney told her, according to the report.

Kearney stabbed the walls and television before deputies arrived and took him in to custody.

Kearney was being held without bond Wednesday, jail records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
