Authorities say a Plant City teen faces 93 counts of possession of child pornography and four counts of lewd and lascivious molestation.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement spokeswoman Samantha Andrews says the 16-year-old was being held in the Hillsborough County Jail on nine related counts of sexual performance of a child when he was arrested Sunday on additional charges.
She says authorities were contacted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police that a computer at the teen's Plant City address was sharing the illegal images online. The FDLE's cyber high-tech crime squad began investigating in September.
The Ledger of Lakeland reports the teen was first arrested Oct. 1 after agents searched his home. During the investigation the additional charges were added.
He is in jail with a bail of $802,000.
