Florida Woman Extends Alaska Vacation to Search for Lost Cat

A Florida woman's love for her cat is leading her to extend her vacation in Alaska.

A 10-pound black and white male cat named Tucker disappeared after Robin Wiesneth, 50, of Miramar Beach and her husband, Charles, were involved in a fatal traffic crash Aug. 5 on the Kenai Spur Highway.

A pickup truck with two people crossed the highway centerline and crashed into the Wiesneths' motorhome. Both people in the truck died. The Wiesneths suffered minor injuries.

The Peninsula Clarion, a Kenai newspaper, reports Tucker was on Robin Wiesneth's lap in a small cat bed when the crash occurred.

Charles Wiesneth is returning to Florida, but Robin says she will stay until the cat is found.

She's offering a $500 reward for its return.
