A former Broward Commissioner was released from prison in Georgia on Wednesday, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website.

Josephus Eggelletion, 63, was released from the Federal Correctional Institution in Jesup, Ga., after serving two prison sentences, the South Florida Sun Sentinel reported.

He was released before 9:30 a.m. He has to report to a South Florida probation officer to begin his three-years of supervised release.

He had been sentenced to serve two 2-and-a-half year terms simultaneously.

He pleaded guilty to federal charges of money laundering conspriarcy and tax charges.

He turned himself in at the prison in 2010.
