The City of Fort Lauderdale has been ranked No. 7 among the nation’s “Top 10 Best Downtowns in 2014,” according to Livability.com
Fort Lauderdale’s booming nightlife scene and office market helped bring the city to the top ten.
“We lead the region in job growth, have the lowest unemployment rate in South Florida, and continue to attract record numbers of tourists,” said Fort Lauderdale Mayor John P. “Jack” Seiler in a press release.
According to Livability, Fort Lauderdale residents have seen their incomes increase. The city has also transformed into a more urban center after city leaders enacted a master plan to create a more "livable downtown" in 2007.
