Travelers at Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport were dealing with delays after a terminal was evacuated Thursday morning due to a possible fire.
Terminal 1, which is where both Southwest Airlines and Jet Blue Airlines are located, was evacuated shortly before 10 a.m.
Broward Sheriff’s officials say there was a report of smoke inside a cleaner located there, but would not release any other information. The airport later sent a tweet saying there was a fire, but it had been put out.
After a short delay, the terminal was reopened and flights continued as normal.
