Foul Play Suspected After Tow Truck Driver Goes Missing in Davie Trailer Park

The search continued Tuesday for a man last seen at a Davie truck stop – and police suspect foul play could be involved.

Valentino Malloggi, 38, has been missing since Sunday. He had called family members when he was at the Florida 595 Truck Stop off Burris Road saying he was going on a job for the towing company Malloggi works for.

His work vehicle was found the following morning inside of a trailer park not far from the truck stop. It was running with Malloggi’s personal items missing. A GPS inside did not indicate it went anywhere but that location.

"We're searching that area right now for any video that may be at any of the businesses to try to further the investigation, we're checking with banks, the hospitals, everything we can to try to locate him," Davie Police Capt. Dale Engle said.

Malloggi has eight kids and family members said it's unlike him to be irresponsible.

"The last 24 hours has been extremely straining on our family because we just don't have any information," sister Teresa Palacios said. "It's very abnormal. He would not leave his kids behind and he wouldn't miss work."

Detectives said there were no signs of a struggle around the tow truck.

"From what we're learning from the family there does not appear to be any medical issues, so it raises grave concerns for us that this guy would just drop off the map as he has," Capt. Engle said.

At this time, detectives suspect foul play but have not released any additional information. Anyone with tips in the case is asked to call Davie Police or Broward CrimeStoppers.
